Recall Campaign for rear parking brake on Mitsubishi ASX and Outlander.

In coordination with the Competition & Consumer Protection Department in the Ministry of Economy, Al Habtoor Motors announces a Recall Campaign for a limited number of Mitsubishi ASX and Outlander vehicles with the below details which will be effective immediately.

Al Habtoor Motors Co. LLC, the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in the UAE, have released the following statement:

"We regret to inform that

(a) Due to improper sealing of parking brake shaft boots, water might enter and rust the shaft. As a result of continuous use, the rust will erode into the internal caliper and reduce the parking brake force. In the worst case scenario, parked vehicle will arbitrarily move.

(b) Some rear brake calipers have shipped without passing the proper specification inspection. Auto adjustment of gap between brake disc and brake pad might not work properly. As a result, as the brake pad wears out, the caliper will not adjust the gap automatically and brake force will be insufficient to hold the vehicle. In the worst case scenario, parked vehicle will arbitrarily move. Therefore, we are trying to fix it for the safety of the users."

All repairs related to this recall campaign will be completed free of charge to the customer.

A total of 8,074 vehicles, Model Code (GF3W)/GF4W/GA2W, are affected in Dubai/Northern Emirates/Abu Dhabi/Al Ain manufactured between January 2013 and December 2016.

No other vehicles are affected.

In the interests of delivering the highest standards of Mitsubishi quality and customer care, Al Habtoor Motors LLC (Dubai, Northern Emirates, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain) will contact all customers with affected models to arrange for repairs to be made.
