Al Habtoor Motor’s Green Zone complements the new era of sustainable mobility

The custom-built area inside its Sheikh Zayed Road showroom helps visitors to connect with Mitsubishi Motors’ revolutionary Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV)

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, March 2, 2020: In an effort to support the UAE Vision 2021, Al Habtoor Motors, official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors in the UAE, has launched a dedicated Green Zone at the Sheikh Zayed Road showroom to showcase the unparalleled capabilities of the Outlander PHEV.

A testament to its constant evolution, brilliant engineering and technological innovation the award-winning Outlander PHEV will be displayed at Al Habtoor’s Green Zone along with its charger where showroom visitors will get up close and personal with the world’s best-selling PHEV SUV.

Launched for the first time in the Middle East at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show, the Outlander PHEV is the immediate solution for the UAE to reduce greenhouse gas without the need for infrastructural changes. The remarkable PHEV technology ensures zero fuel consumption and zero CO₂ emissions during all-electric driving.

“The Outlander PHEV paves the way to a new era of sustainable mobility and the Green Zone is our next step in our commitment to uphold the vision of the UAE government to step up the use of cleaner and sustainable energy.”, said C.V. Ravin, General Manager Sales – Mitsubishi, Al Habtoor Motors.

The Outlander PHEV employs two electric motors, one at each axle and a powerful 2.4-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with enhanced fuel efficiency and improved noise reduction that work together to optimize performance according to driving preferences. Working together, the twin motors and petrol engine outperform a 3.0-litre petrol engine.

PHEV Technology

PHEV is a hybrid electric vehicle equipped with a battery that can be recharged by either plugging it into an external source of electric power, or by its on-board engine and generator. Just like all-electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids discharge cleaner emissions from the tailpipe having sent power to the generators powering the electricity grid of the vehicle. Charging the battery from the grid consumes significantly less petrol than using the on-board engine, resulting in fewer CO2 emissions.

By synchronizing the twin motors and the engine, EV, Series Hybrid and Parallel driving modes are seamlessly changed for optimized low CO2 emissions experience. The quiet, smooth and zero-emission EV mode is ideal for daily commute, the Outlander PHEV can achieve best speed of 135 km/h while utilizing the electric motors only.

Series Hybrid mode is activated when the battery charge is running low and/or the vehicle needs more power for acceleration, the engine operates as a generator to supply electricity to the twin motors.

Parallel mode engages at high speed driving using the engine with assistance from the motors when extra power is required while simultaneously charging the battery.

The newly introduced Battery Management features provide utmost liberty to choose between Save mode, where the engine maintains battery charge level for later use. While the Charge mode will keep charging the battery, the EV Priority mode will only use the battery until charge drops to an extremely low level.

Also new to the Outlander PHEV is the Twin Motor 4WD feature which allows to select Normal, Sand and Lock modes depending on road conditions. The new separate Sport Mode switch is available for quicker response and agile maneuverability.

To test drive the Outlander PHEV book an appointment online at www.habtoormotors.com/mitsusbishi or by calling 800 254228667

Available in three variants, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross aims to appeal to style-conscious drivers with its sharp coupé looks and muscular SUV stance, which delivers an enjoyable, reassuring feel that elevates the driving experience.

DYNAMIC DESIGN WITH CHARACTER

The sharp and dynamic form of the all-new Eclipse Cross is distinguished by its wedge profile with its bold beltline and strong character line; a forward raked rear window; the sharply truncated rear gate and short overhang; and muscular wings that contribute to an athletic appearance.

The front design features Mitsubishi’s trademark Dynamic Shield concept, which refers to the protective shield shape visually formed by the black central area and highlighted by bold bright work on either side of the grill. Distinctive auxiliary lamps are recessed deep in the front fascia adding drama and sophistication to the SUV’s front-on appearance.

At the rear, the high-mounted, stretched rear lamps divide the rear window into eye-catching upper and lower segments and when illuminated the tubular LED and central LED brake lights form a single bar of light running across the tail, giving the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross a broad and unmistakable appearance from the rear. The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross also heralds the arrival of a new red body colour. The standard coating is layered with semi-transparent red and clear coating, and this creates high levels of colour saturation with a highly-refined finish.

Inside, the new SUV’s dashboard is shaped using horizontal lines, with silver metal frames and a black and silver monotone colour scheme helping create a sense of refinement that is both dynamic and sporty. With its Rockford Fosgate Sound System that delivers the music reproduction of a quality home system and new Head Up Display, the futuristic cockpit inspires a sense of excitement for the driver. For maximum comfort and flexibility, the rear seat features a 60:40 split with long slide-and-recline adjustment.

PROTECTING WHAT MATTERS MOST

Forward Collision Mitigation

Utilising the same laser radar technology as adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation technology keeps a constant eye on the road ahead and warns the driver should an impact risk be detected, both from traffic or pedestrians.

Lane Departure Warning

Cameras built into the front of the vehicle detect when the vehicle drifts out of lane and a warning is issued to the driver.

Blind Spot Warning

By detecting vehicles in the blind spot and alerting the driver in the mirrors this system helps to enhance safety and reduce accidents.

Front and Rear Parking Sensors

Helping you detect those out of sight obstacles the Eclipse Cross is fitted with front and rear parking sensors.

7 Airbags

To keep occupants safe in the event of a collision, the Eclipse Cross comes with a 7-airbag system to provide protection from all sides.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert

The Rear Cross Traffic Alert system lets the drivers know if they are about to back into oncoming cross traffic. This feature is especially helpful when pulling out of a tricky driveway or manoeuvring in a crowded car park.

Mitsubishi Pajero – King of the Road for 35 years

Over the past three and half decades, one SUV has seen growing popularity in the automotive sector, particularly in the SUV category – The Mitsubishi Pajero. The rugged, stylish and dependable Pajero was brought to the UAE by Al Habtoor Motors, the official dealer of Mitsubishi.
The first Pajero prototype was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in November 1973. The Pajero II prototype followed in 1978, five years later. Mitsubishi’s aim was to create more of a recreational vehicle, not just an SUV. In January 1983, the first Pajero made its debut at the Paris Dakar Rally, taking first place in 1985. To date, the Pajero is the most successful vehicle in the Dakar Rally (winning its class 7 out of the last 10 races, and 15 of the full 32 races)
For years, the Mitsubishi Pajero has ranked high in  the world rally scene – be it the Italain Baja, UAE Desert Challenge, Tunisia Rally, Por Las Pampas, Morocco Rally or the Granada-Dakar.
The Pajero enjoys a large fan following and has been highly successful in the UAE. Indeed, its iconic image, rally heritage as well as its robust performance and an array of advanced active & passive safety technologies have made it the most preferred 4WD in this region.   Over the decades, the Pajero has become the Best Value Japanese SUV and the Preferred Family Vehicle in the UAE. Today it is an embodiment of ultimate pride, quality, reliability and safety.
Apart from low maintenance and a smooth drive, the Pajero also boasts the best residual value in its class making it a great investment. Today, with three and a half decades of trust there are over  100,000 satisfied Pajero customers in the UAE.
Featuring a new front bumper, front guards, side steps and rear deflector, chrome radiator grille, door handles and mirrors, plus privacy glass, the 2016 Pajero rolls on sturdy 18-inch alloy wheels. High intensity discharge headlamps and front LED daytime running lights now come as standard to help improve visibility.
The 2016 Pajero comes with two engine choices – a 3.5 litre V6 that churns out 186 horsepower and a larger 3.8 litre V6 that whips out 246 horsepower and boasts a top speed of 200 km/h. While a 4 speed automatic transmission is what the 3.5 litre variant receives, a 5 speed automatic transmission makes its way into the beefier 3.8 litre variant.
